The desert is the soul of Morocco, and few experiences compare to watching sunrise over a sea of dunes after a night in a Berber camp. At Excursiones al Desierto we design private routes that take you into the heart of the Sahara —the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga and the remote Erg Chigaga— starting from Marrakech or Fez.
As an Amazigh family from Rissani, we don't sell a destination: we open the doors of our home to you. We personally choose the camps, we know the desert families and we accompany you in your language from start to finish. Choose the length that best fits your trip and we take care of the rest.
Frequently asked questions about our tours
How many days do I need to see the Moroccan desert?
With 2 days from Fez you can already sleep in the dunes, but the most balanced is 3 days from Marrakech. If you want to travel unhurried or reach Erg Chigaga, 4 days is ideal.
Are the tours private or shared?
All our routes are private: you travel only with your group and your Spanish-speaking driver-guide. That way we adapt the pace, the stops and the accommodation to you.
What is the best time to go to the desert?
Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the best weather. Winter is great by day but cold at night; summer is very hot, especially in Erg Chigaga.
How do I book and how do I pay?
Write to us via the form or WhatsApp with your dates and number of travellers. We send you a quote with no commitment and, to confirm, a 30% deposit is paid via PayPal; the rest is paid during the trip.
